Landscape lighting

Landscape lighting you see lit before it is installed

We light the trees, the brick and the walk the way the design calls for, in warm white, aimed after dark with you standing in the yard. Before any of that, you see the house lit in the 3D model.

What gets lit

What gets lit on a North Texas lot

The trees

Two fixtures at the base of a live oak, one up the trunk and one into the canopy. Lit, the tree frames the house instead of disappearing at dusk.

The brick

Fixtures 18 inches off the wall at the entry arch and the gables, aimed up, so the texture reads and the house has a shape at night.

The beds

Two fixtures at the front edge aimed back across a row of sage or abelia. Silver foliage glows. This is the part people call designed.

The walk

Path lights alternating along the curve, far enough apart that the walk reads as a line of pools and never as a runway.

The patio

One fixture mounted high on the house corner, aimed down, so there is light to sit in and nothing to trip on.

Everything runs warm white, 2700K. Wire is buried six inches along the bed edges with a home run from the transformer to each bed. The transformer sits at a garage or patio outlet, comes on at dusk by photocell and goes off on a timer you set.

See it lit first

You see the house lit before a fixture is bought

Every 3D Complete Vision design includes a night view of the plan, with each fixture placed and aimed in the model. You walk the yard on screen at night, move a fixture, drop one, add one, and approve the plan. On install day the crew sets the fixtures where the model put them, then aims every one after dark with you. A 2D Site Plan client can add the night image or video to the plan.

For a yard that is already finished, we start from photos and a visit, build the lighting plan, and show you the same night view before you decide.

How it goes

What happens after you book

  1. 01

    Free virtual consult, 15 minutes

You send photos of the front of the house and the trees. We tell you what is worth lighting and roughly what it costs.

  2. 02

On-site visit, $200, credited in full

We measure, find the outlet, check the trees and the beds, and photograph the house for the night view.

  3. 03

The plan and the night view

Fixture by fixture, in the 3D model, with the three package prices. You approve it.

  4. 04

    Install

Most front yards install in a day once the fixtures are in hand. Some fixtures are special order, so the lead time is confirmed with the plan. Wire buried, transformer set, fixtures placed.

  5. 05

    Aiming at dark

We come back at dusk, aim every fixture with you, and set the timer.

Questions

Questions about landscape lighting

How much does landscape lighting cost in North Texas?

Installed low-voltage systems run about $180 to $320 a fixture depending on the fixture line. Our 21-fixture front yard is $3,840 on aluminum, $5,390 on FX Luminaire and $6,720 on cast brass. An eight-fixture entry starts around $1,800.

Is low-voltage lighting safe around kids, dogs and irrigation?

Yes. The system runs on 12 volts from a transformer plugged into a standard exterior outlet. The wire is buried along the bed edges and marked on the plan so irrigation and planting work can avoid it.

Do I need an electrician?

Not for the lighting itself. Texas lets landscape contractors install low-voltage exterior lighting. If the house has no exterior outlet where the transformer needs to go, a licensed electrician adds one and we quote that line separately.

How long do the LEDs last?

The integrated LEDs in all three packages are rated for tens of thousands of hours, which is well over a decade at dusk-to-eleven use. Fixture warranties are listed with each package.

Can I add to the system later?

Yes. Every transformer is sized with headroom (the 150W units carry about 60 to 70W; the 300W multi-tap has room for more zones), and the home runs are laid so a back-yard zone can tie in later.

Will the HOA care?

Low-voltage landscape lighting is residential and does not go through architectural review in the towns we work. Aim matters more than rules: fixtures are aimed into the tree, the wall or the bed, never toward the street or a neighbor's window.
