Landscape Installation Cost in North Texas (2026)

In Dallas–Fort Worth, a professionally installed landscape typically costs $15,000–$35,000 for a full property, from about $5,000 for a single area, and $35,000–$50,000+ for estate-scale work. Here is where the money actually goes — and how to keep a project on budget without buying a cheap-looking yard.

Where the money goes on North Texas soil

  1. Site prep is not optional here. On expansive Blackland clay (most of Collin County) hardscape needs engineered base and beds need height and drainage; on Cross Timbers sand (Flower Mound, Southlake edges) grading around established oaks is the cost driver. Skipping prep is how a $20,000 install becomes a $28,000 do-over.
  2. Plant size is a slider. The same design installs at very different prices with 30-gallon versus 95-gallon trees and 1-gallon versus 5-gallon shrubs. We spec sizes zone by zone: big where structure matters on day one, smaller where two growing seasons close the gap.
  3. Irrigation done to the watering rules. Every city in our service area restricts watering days; drip zones, smart controllers (exempt from day schedules in McKinney) and rain/freeze sensors (required in Dallas and McKinney) are part of the install, not an add-on.
  4. Access and demolition. Gate width, haul-off volume and what has to come out first are the quiet line items — visible in a designed bid, invisible in a handshake quote.

Why designed installs come in on budget

An installation bid from a finished design is priced from real quantities — square feet of stone, counts and sizes of every plant, linear feet of edging and drip. Bids from a walk-around are priced from allowances, and allowances grow. That is the practical reason our design fees credit toward installation: the plan is the budget control. See the companion guide on design costs.

Timing: fall installs win in North Texas

October and November are the best installation months in Dallas–Fort Worth: cooler soil, winter rain, and a full root-establishment season before the first 105° week. Designs booked by early October install inside that window — which is also why our fall calendar fills first.

Frequently asked

How much does a full landscape installation cost in North Texas?

A full-property installation in Dallas–Fort Worth typically runs $15,000–$35,000, with focused single-area projects from about $5,000 and estate-scale work $35,000–$50,000+. Hardscape share, plant sizes, irrigation scope and site access drive the spread.

How much does a patio cost in North Texas?

Roughly $8 to $30+ per square foot installed: a basic 200 sq ft decomposed-granite patio starts around $1,500–$2,500, while a custom flagstone patio with seating walls can run $15,000–$30,000+.

Is it cheaper to install in phases?

Phasing spreads the cash flow but adds mobilization cost per phase. A phased master plan keeps the total honest: hardscape and irrigation first, structure plantings second, refinement third — each phase complete on its own.

Does the design fee come off the installation?

Yes — our design fees carry installation credits ($500–$1,500 by tier), and the $200 consultation credits toward the design. The design also protects the install budget: the plan is bid from real quantities, not allowances.
